Thanks to the Oberlin Ohio School District for opposing the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. However, the Pledge should be ended completely. If the schools are supposed to teach the history of the Pledge, make sure they have photos of its early straight-arm salute and that they expose the dogma that motivated Francis Bellamy and other National Socialist who promoted the Pledge. The New York Times reported that the use of the torch as an Olympic symbol originated within the propaganda machine of the National Socialist German Workers' Party and was first employed in the 1936 games in Berlin.
