I generally hate missions where you're pumping bullet after bullet into creatures that won't drop anything remotely useful but this one's probably the most heinous. Not only did I get alerted to this quest while I wasn't anywhere near powerful enough to complete it, I found that after getting through what seem like three separate points of conclusion that the damn thing still isn't over and if I want the good resolution it won't happen for quite some time (although as a result of this I went to Rivet City before I even found GNR thus skipping through a decent chunk of the main quest for better or worse). And after hearing what the bad version is which sounds a lot funnier and with better rewards, well I wonder why I'm playing a saint sometimes.

Yeah, it was the first quest I found out of the Vault (found it before I found Megaton even). The good news is... melee attacks work pretty well on the small worker ants. It's the warrior ants you really have to watch out for. None of the rest of the game has been as hard as this quest. - Jordan

I still can't get over how many endings there are ,somewhere over 200?  Rumors of 9,000 which sounds ridiculous but I heard Bethseda themselves say 200 officially. Did you guys check out the level up glitch with Bittercup in Big Town? It took me 4 1/2 hours to level up with the glitch, but the game is ten times more fun now,but you would think at level 20 (the current max level) you would be a bad ass,but you aren't. I'm playing on the next to the hardest difficulty and some of the enemies are tough to take down even with my small guns at 100. I'm gonna go look for the Alien Ship/Pistol tomorrow as I've already put 35 hours into Fallout3 and I need a break and I've only done (4) of the main missions and a gazillion side missions. Looks like another 200+ hour game..whew There's LOTS of side missions, even from simple things as picking up a holotape in a back room corner out of sight yields a 5+ side mission. I like the fact that you don't have the same dungeons over and over like Oblivion , at least Fallout3 has more of a mix. If you guys want an awesome Fallout3 experience consider doing the level up glitch in BigTown with Bittercup and Pappy,but choose stats/ skills VERY wisely as you'll still get owned by certain enemies. Really all I need for the rest of the year is Fallout3 and COD5 and I'm fine. I still haven't opened Gears2,FarCry2,BIA,SilentHill. Although I'm picking up COD5 tomorrow I'll most likely start playing that as I wanna get back up on the leader boards again. WAY too many games right now, I could be happy with just Fallout3 and COD5 for another 6 months easy. I still play COD4 and how long ago did that come out?

Oh yeah I forgot if you don't already know , you can target the ants antenna and they go into a frenzy and attack each other. 90% of the time if you throw a grendade in VATS you'll damage they're attenae and cause them to go into frenzy ,or just target their antenna with a ballistic weapon like an assault rifle and damage the antenna Also you get 25 fire resistance if you eat they're venom sacs or whatever they're called

Yeah I've never understood why game designers think having creatures like rats and insects in games is somehow fun.  I hate games that throw hordes and hordes of weak creatures at you and all they are is a nuisance.  Actually 2 pet peeves I have are swarms of weak non- humaniod creatures, and especially when these creatures can also give you diseases or poison you.  That's just NOT fun.

Did you actually use VATS to shoot off their antennae so they attacked each other? Plus, you have to use the ant glands to make yourself fire resistant.
