I'm on Live almost every night playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I'm quite addictive, to the point where I haven't played any of my other games in a long time, sadly. There is a package deal that you can find on sale every once in a while that includes the controller keyboard, a game (Project Gotham Racing, I think) and a 12-month sub_script_ion to Live.  It's a great deal if you don't have the keyboard, 'cause it's about the same price as Live. Otherwise, Live is sort of expensive, but if you're going to use it, it's worth it. You have to pay more for most of your downloads (sometimes there are freebies, like demos and some 'upgrades' like songs).  If you play the music games, you definitely want Live to download more songs. The mic is only necessary if you're going to play the chat-able games and actually do so.  SOMETIMES I'll plug it in for CoD, but only rarely. I think the Arcade version of the 360 comes with a small harddrive, no?  You'll only need one if you're going to be downloading enough.
