Now that several of my friends had thier accounts wiped due to the pindlebot issue, it's becoming increasingly more difficult to find people to help out in hell rushes. I've got a couple of friends (and a character of my own) that I'd like to rush through hell some night on U.S. East. Anyone interested in helping out? Scott

On hands and knees, Scott Boterweg crawls to SilverRaven and begs: Now that several of my friends had thier accounts wiped due to the pindlebot issue, it's becoming increasingly more difficult to find people to help out in hell rushes. I've got a couple of friends (and a character of my own) that I'd like to rush through hell some night on U.S. East. What pindlebot issue? Details please? Pindlebot is a program that automatically runs your character to create a game, do a Pindleskin (first boss in the red portal after rescueing Anya) run, collect the good loot, repeat. The program even had a plug-in program so the Pindlebotter could play Tetris while the Pindle runs happened. There was even an option of a Tetris-bot to run while the Pindle bot ran. Basicaly the Pindlebot program helped flood the economy with high end items while creating thousands of games on b/net, therefore causing major server lag on Realms. Blizzard's post on it: April 1, 2003 Warcraft III and Diablo II Accounts Closed, CD Keys Banned UPDATE: THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS' JOKE Numerous additional accounts and CD keys were tied to the use of a hack or cheat program while playing Warcraft III or Diablo II on Battle.net. In keeping with our aggressive stance against hacks and cheats, we have permanently closed over 12,000 Warcraft III accounts and over 131,000 Diablo II accounts. We have also banned over 7,000 CD keys from ladder play for one month and banned over 1,000 Warcraft III CD keys from ladder play permanently. Please note that repeat offenders risk having their CD keys disabled, which results in permanent removal from Battle.net for their copies of Warcraft III or Diablo II. We continue to monitor the Warcraft III and Diablo II realms for malicious p_layer_s. We regret having to employ these extreme measures; however, certain unscrupulous p_layer_s have impaired the game play of the Warcraft III and Diablo II communities as a whole, and severe action continues to be warranted and required. We would also like to reassure everyone that a false report filed by one p_layer_ against another will not result in the actions described above. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you would like to report additional instances of hacking or cheating, please contact us at

They're two years too late on the CD Key banning, though. If they had done this two years ago when the hackers were just beginning to ruin the realms, they'd still be playable. The only CD keys they actualy banned were from Ladder Play. Actual CD Keys being banned from Realms, nope. But they did delete a few accounts though. -Wailwulf
